American Insurance Center is an independent insurance agency having access to mulitiple companies enabling us to offer our clients competitive pricing, a broad choice of products, and unparalleled advocacy. Our 36 employees work out of five locations in North Dakota and one in South Dakota.

History
American
Insurance originally started in American State Bank in the 1960's.
Frank Wald was the agent for American Insurance at that time. He left
the agency to work for Time Insurance Company in Minneapolis. Frank
came back to Dickinson and purchased the agency from American Bank Center
in July 1973.
On
January 1, 1991, the Wald Agency and Prairie Insurance of Dickinson
merged. The firm continued as the Wald Agency and continued to grow
to become the largest, locally owned, independent insurance agency
in Western ND.
The
Wald Agency was acquired by American Bank Center on July 1,
1998. All of the employees continued with the new agency, American
Insurance, Inc. On January 7, 2002, American Insurance became
an affiliate of Bank Center First in Bismarck when the holding company
of American Bank Center & Trust merged with Bismarck Bankshares, the
holding company of Bank Center First.
In
May 2002, American Insurance acquired First Insurance Agency
of Bismarck and in August 2002 acquired King Insurance Agency, also
in Bismarck. This helped establish American Insurance in the
Bismarck market. American Insurance has added several additional
sales representatives in Bismarck and in Jamestown to broaden its representation
in the State of North Dakota.
